Saigon to Hanoi (PEV-TR12-2) Itinerary Day 1 SAIGON Arrive
in Saigon (formerly called Saigon). Transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is
at leisure. An optional visit and shopping at Ben Thanh Market is available. Overnight in Saigon. (D) Day 2 SAIGON – CU CHI – SAIGON After
breakfast, drive to visit the famous Cu Chi tunnels, the vestiges of the
American war, an underground tunnel system constructed by Vietnamese
resistance fighters during the long struggle for independence. En route
to Cu Chi, you can see how rural people live and work, view occupations such
as cashew nut growing, rice farming and rice paper production. Return to Saigon
in the afternoon for a half-day city tour. Visit Reunification Palace, Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office, Thien Hau Temple and Binh Tay Market in the city’s
bustling Chinatown. Overnight in Saigon. (B,L,D) Day 3 SAIGON – VINH LONG – SAIGON Depart
to Vinh Long, visit My Thuan
suspension bridge en route. Arrive in Vinh Long. A
boat trip on Mekong River to view daily lives of people who work and play
on waterways of Mekong Delta. Visit Cai Be floating
market, a typical bustling trade on water of Southern villagers. Continue
along the small channel of An Binh Islet. Visit a
ceramic tile factory, coconut-candy factory, and a rice husking
business. Stop to enjoy fruits in the orchards and home-made
honey alcohol, enjoy local traditional songs or visit the famous Bonsai of gardener
Sau Giao, sapling garden
of Tam Ho. Transfer back Saigon. Overnight in Saigon. (B,L,D) Day 4
SAIGON – HUE Take
a morning flight to Hue, the ancient capital of Vietnam. Tranfer
to hotel. Visit the Imperial Citadel, from where the Nguyen dynasty ruled
between 1802 and 1945. Continue visiting the elaborate tombs of Emperors Khai Dinh and Tu Duc. Stop en route at local
families to learn how Vietnam’s famous conical hats and colorful incenses are
made. Enjoy traditional folk songs on Perfume River in the evening. Overnight
in Hue. (B,L,D) Day 5 HUE – DANANG – HOI AN A
morning boat trip on the romantic Perfume River to visit Hue’s best-known
religious site, Thien Mu pagoda, then
transfer to Danang
by car. The scenic route passes by wonderfully photogenic fishing village of
Lang Co before climbing over Hai Van Pass (the Pass
of Ocean Clouds). Arrive in Danang, visit Cham Museum, the best collection of Cham artifacts
in the world. On the way to Hoi An, break the journey to visit the Marble
Mountain, a large garden mount complex and invaluable gift of nature, listed
as a national heritage. Arrive in Hoi An, a major Asian trading port in the
17th and 18th centuries. Overnight in Hoi An. (B,L,D) Day 6 HOI AN A
morning boat trip on Thu Bon River to visit traditional villages around Hoi
An. An afternoon walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit the former
merchants’ houses, the 400-year-old Japanese covered bridge, ancient pagodas
and temples, and the colourful market with shopping
time. Overnight in Hoi An. (B,L,D) Day 7 HOI AN – DANANG – HANOI Leave
Hoi An for Danang to catch
flight to Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam. Transfer to hotel. Hanoi is unique
city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, ancient
temples, old pagodas and peaceful lakes...A 2-hour cyclo
tour to visit the historic Old Quarter of Hanoi with 36 streets named after
the goods once sold there. Evening, enjoy the water puppet show. Overnight in
Hanoi. (B,L,D) Day 8 HANOI – BAC NINH – HA LONG A
morning city tour to visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh’s
House-on-Stilts, One-Pillar Pagoda and Temple of Literature. Afternoon,
leave Hanoi for Bac Ninh,
the cradle of traditional Vietnamese music and theater. Upon arrival, take a
cart through the lanes to visit Dinh Bang Communal
House and Do Temple, enjoy folk songs before proceeding to Ha Long Bay, an UNESCO World Heritage site. Overnight in Halong. (B,L,D) Day 9
HALONG – HANOI A
5-hour boat trip for viewing numerous types of islands on the bay. Visit Thien Cung cave (grotto of the
Heavenly Palace), famous for its stalagmites and stalactites, and Dau Go
cave (grotto of the Wooden Stakes), where in 1288 one of Vietnam’s most
famous generals, Tran Hung Dao, amassed hundreds of stakes deep inside the
cave prior to a battle with an invading Mongul
army. Enjoy a sea-food lunch on board. Transfer back Hanoi, en route break
the journey to visit an embroidery factory of disabled with wonderful works
at unexpected price. Overnight in Hanoi. (B,L,D) Day 10
HANOI DEPARTURE At leisure
till transfer to Noi Bai

Sapa Adventure (4 days/4 nites) Day 9 HANOI – DEPARTURE Arrive
in Hanoi, catch the night train to Lao Cai at 21.30H. Overnight on train. (B,L,D) Day 10 FIVE-HOUR-TREKKING, 14 km THROUGH 2 VILLAGES Pick
up at Lao Cai Rainway
Station in early morning and transfer to Sapa by
bus. Arrive in Sapa around 8.00H. Transfer to Hotel.
Breakfast. Trek to visit 2 villages of the Black H’mong
(Cat Cat and Sin Chai). Picnic lunch at a waterfall
and view the Hydroelectric Power Station built by the French. Back to Sapa roughly 4.00PM. Ovevrnight
in Sapa. (B,L,D) Day 11 SEVEN-HOUR-TREKKING, 17 kms
THROUGH 3 VILLAGES Head
for the valley to visit 2 villages of the H’mong
and the Dzay, picnic lunch on the way or in a local
family. Go on visiting the Red Dzao in Giang Ta Chai village, view a waterfall and a suspension bridge. Walk up
the road to catch a jeep back Sapa. Overnight in Sapa. (B,L,D) Day 12 SAPA – LAO CAI – HANOI Free to
explore the town until transfer back to Lao Cai to
catch the night train at 21H back to Hanoi. Overnight on train. Arrive in
