Itinerary
Day 1 HANOI
Arrive
in Hanoi. Transfer to hotel. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight
in Hanoi. (D)
Day 2 HANOI – BAT
TRANG – HANOI
After
breakfast, depart for Bat Trang ceramic village,
famous for its blue and white hand-painted ceramics, then
visit Temple of Literature. After lunch, take a 2-hour cyclo
tour for visiting the Old Quarter with 36 streets named after the goods
once sold there. Stop for a visit to Hang Be market and for shopping. Evening , enjoy water puppet show. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3 HANOI – HA
LONG
A
morning city tour of Vietnam's capital. Hanoi is a unique city with
tree–lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, ancient temples, old
pagodas and peaceful lakes. Visit Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Ho Chi Minh’s
house-on-stilts, One-Pillar pagoda. Continue to West Lake, the largest lake
of Hanoi imbued with myths and legends, visit Tran Quoc
pagoda, one of the oldest Buddhist pagodas in Vietnam. After lunch, depart
for Ha Long. Enjoy the interesting 3–hour drive to Halong,
along the way you will see rice fields, water buffalo and daily Vietnamese
village life. Check in hotel. Overnight in Ha Long. (B,L,D)
Day 4 HA LONG –
HANOI
Take
a 6-hour boat trip to visit Thien Cung cave (grotto of the Heavenly Place) and Dau Go cave (grotto of the wooden stakes). Enjoy fresh
seafood lunch on board. Afternoon trip back to Hanoi, stop to visit the
embroidery factory of the disabled with wonderful works at unexpected price
en route. Overnight in Hanoi. (B,L,D)
Day 5 HANOI - HUE
Transfer
to Noi Bai airport for
a short flight to Hue, the former Imperial capital of Vietnam. Transfer to
hotel. Afternoon boat trip on the romantic Perfume River to visit Hue’s
best–known religious site: Thien Mu pagoda, and
mausoleum of the former Emperor Minh Mang. Enjoy
traditional folk songs on Perfume River in the evening. Overnight in Hue.

Day 6 HUE – DANANG
– HOI AN
Visit
the elaborate Mausoleum of Emperor Tu Duc and the Imperial Citadel from where the Nguyen
dynasty ruled between 1802 – 1945. Depart for Danang,
the scenic route passes the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang
Co before climbing over Hai Van Pass (the pass of
ocean clouds). Arrive in Danang. Afternoon, visit
Cham museum and the Marble Mountain on the road to Hoi An, a major Asian
trading port in the 17th and 18th centuries. Overnight in Hoi An. (B,L,D)
Day 7 HOI AN
A
boat trip on Thu Bon River to visit traditional villages around Hoi An.
Afternoon, take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to visit the
former merchants’ houses, the 400-year-old Japanese Covered Bridge, ancient
pagodas and temples, and the colourful market
with shopping time. Overnight in Hoi An. (B,L,D)
Day 8 HOI AN – NHA
TRANG
Transfer
to Danang airport for a short flight to Nha Trang. Arrive at Cam Ranh airport. Transfer to hotel. City tour to visit Ponagar temple, Long Son pagoda with its enormous white
Buddha statue, and Oceanographic Institute. Overnight in Nha Trang. (B,L,D)
Day 9 NHA TRANG
Transfer
to the wharf for a boat trip in Nha Trang with swimming time in coral bay. Lunch on board.
Afternoon free time for sunbathing on the nice beach. Overnight in Nha Trang. (B,L,D)
Day 10 NHA TRANG –
DALAT
Leaving
for Da Lat after breakfast, the road follows the
coast and passes to the arid coastal city of Phan
Rang. Break the journey to visit the 13th century Po Klong
JaraiCham Towers perched high on a rocky hill
surrounded by pricky pear Cacti. Arrive in Da Lat, established as a hill station at the beginning
of the 20thcentury, Da
Lat is reminiscence of an Alpine town with its French chalets and pine
forests. Transfer to hotel. An afternoon city tour includes Da Lat church, Prenn
waterfall, Xuan Huong
lake. Overnight in Da Lat. (B,L,D)
Day 11 DALAT –
SAIGON
Continue
a morning sightseeing in Dalat. Take in the art
deco former summer residence of the last emperor Bao
Dai, the old Dalat railway and Lam Tu Ni pagoda where a Buddhist monk, Vien
Thuc, produces his abstract paintings and writes
poetry. Leaving for Saigon, 300 km from Dalat,
after lunch for a scenic drive through rubber and tea plantations en route.

Day 12 SAIGON
A
full day city tour of the dynamic Saigon, still called Saigon by many
locals, visit the former President Palace, Notre Dame cathedral, the old
Saigon Post Office, History Museum. After wonderful lunch in town, visit a lacquer
wares factory, Thien Hau
pagoda and Binh Tay
market in the bustling China Town. (B,L,D)
Day 13 SAIGON –
CAN THO
After
breakfast, transfer to Can Tho with stop to visit
Bang Lang bird garden and local villages. Arrive in Can Tho.
Overnight in Can Tho. (B,L,D)
Day 14 CAN THO –
SAIGON
A
boat tour on Mekong River, enjoy splendid scenery and daily activities on
water of the southern villagers, watch from a viewing tower above the
treetops as thousands of egrets and herons arriving to roost in the
branches. Visit Cai Rang floating market,
orchards and enjoy fruits. Pick up at Cai Rang
for Can Tho market for shopping. Afternoon trip
back to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon. (B,L,D)
Day 15 SAIGON –
TAY NINH – CU CHI – SAIGON
Enjoy
a drive through the typical southern Vietnamese countryside to Tay Ninh province in the west
of Vietnam, visit the Cao Dai temple with fantasy architecture and where
all major faiths of the world blend together in a unique religious cocktail
and amazing noon ceremony. After lunch in a local restaurant, visit the
famous Cu Chi tunnels, the vestiges of the American war, an underground
tunnel system constructed by Vietnamese resistance fighters during the long
struggle for independence. Back to Saigon. Overnight in Saigon. (B,L,D)
Day 16 SAIGON
Morning
at leisure for shopping in Saigon. Transfer to Tan Son Nhat
airport for next destination. (B)
