Itinerary
Day 1 HUE ARRIVAL
Arrive
in Hue, the former capital of Vietnam. Tranfer to
hotel. The rest of the day is free. Overnight in Hue. (D)
Day 2 HUE
A
boat trip on the romantic Perfume River to visit Thien
Mu Pagoda, the best-known religious site, and the mausoleum of the Emperor
Minh Mang, built as the plan drawn out by the
King himself and on the place chosen by the King too in the middle of the
pine forest. Afternoon, visit mausoleums of Emperor Tu
Duc and Khai Dinh, the Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba
Market. Enjoy imperial dinner and traditional folk songs. Overnight in Hue.

Day 3 HUE – DA NANG – HOI AN
Depart
for Danang by road through the scenic route with
the wonderfully photogenic fishing village of Lang Co before climbing over Hai Van pass (the Pass of Ocean Clouds). Stop in Danang to visit the Cham museum, there remain more than
300 original sandstone and terra-cotta objects on display, dated from 7th
and 15th centuries, this is the best collection of Cham artifacts in the
world, on the way to Hoi An, take a visit to the Marble Mountain, a large
garden mount complex and invaluable gift of nature listed as a national
heritage. Continue the trip to Hoi An, a major Asian trading port in the
17th and 18th centuries. Take a walking tour of the ancient town centre to
visit the former merchants’ houses, the Japanese Covered Bridge, ancient
pagodas and temples, and the colorful market. Overnight in Hoi An. (B,L,D)
Day 4 HOIAN – MY SON
– TRA KIEU – HOI AN
Take
a 40km-drive from Hoi An for My Son, a sacred site of the Champa Kingdom, with over 70 brick and sandstone
structures built by the Cham between the 7th and 13th centuries.On
the way back to Hoi An stop to visit Tra Kieu, formerly known as Simhapura
or the Lion Citadel, the old Cham capital. This was an important political
center between 4th and 11th centuries. The rest of the day is free for
relaxing or perhaps hire a bicycle to ride to the nearby Cua Dai beach. Overnight in Hoi An. (B,L,D)
Day 5 DEPARTURE
Morning
is at leisure until tranfer to Danang for onward flight. (B)
