Overview
This vacation
offers a different way to discover Switzerland. Marvel at the spectacular
scenery from the first-class carriages of the Swiss train network, with
rides on the Golden Pass, the Glacier Express, the Bernina Express, and
the Gornergrat trains. Begin your trip in Zürich, Switzerland’s largest
city, and travel to Lucerne, the delightful medieval town with the famous
wooden bridge. Then continue through breathtaking mountain pastures and
quaint villages like Interlaken, Zweisimmen, Meiringen, and Gstaad before
reaching Lausanne on Lake Geneva. Visit elegant Montreux and continue to
Zermatt, the famous resort at the foot of the legendary Matterhorn. Spend
two nights in this beautiful car-free village. From Zermatt, enjoy an
excursion on Europe’s highest rack railway to Gornergrat. Then enjoy an
exciting ride on the Glacier Express from Zermatt to glitzy St. Moritz.
Travel through the pristine natural wonders of the Alps—one of the main highlights
of the tour with unspoiled natural beauty. This is the perfect prelude to
your train ride on the Bernina Express. The Bernina Express train, a
UNESCO World Heritage, takes you to Tirano, Italy, and offers a stunning
array of beautiful mountain streams, glaciers, and alpine scenery. From
St. Moritz, stop in Klosters for time at leisure before returning to
Zürich for the conclusion of your Switzerland train vacation.
