Vacation Overview
Begin this
extraordinary Italy vacation with three nights in Rome, Italy’s capital,
including a sightseeing tour and visits to the Colosseum and Roman Forum.
You also have plenty of leisure time to tour and explore Rome on your
own. Visit Mount Vesuvius, one of Europe’s greatest live volcanoes, and
view its crater before heading to Pompeii, the town destroyed in 79 AD
when Vesuvius erupted. On your tour of the Pompeii archaeological site,
see the remains of the luxurious villas, temples, theater, and forum.
Spend two nights on the Isle of Capri, a breathtaking mecca for the
jet-set. Capri offers a maze of streets, fashionable boutiques, smart
restaurants, and its pretty piazza. Finally enjoy two nights in Sorrento,
the lively seaside resort facing the Gulf of Naples and home to the
famous “Limoncello.” An excursion to the celebrated Amalfi Coast is
included as well. This is an exciting vacation in some of Italy’s
