Itinerary

Day 1 Fri. YOUR OVERNIGHT TRANSPACIFIC FLIGHT  

Experience the beauty Anchorage has to offer

Depart from the U.S.A. to China. Cross the International Date Line en route and lose one day.

Day 2 Sat. ARRIVAL IN BEIJING, CHINA

Arrive in Beijing, the dynamic capital of the People's Republic of China. Once the imperial city of Mongol, Ming and Manchu emperors, Beijing is still extraordinarily rich in historical sites and cultural relics. After clearing government formalities, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel for rest.

Hotel: Chang An Grand Hotel or similar (Superior 1st class)

Day 3 Sun. BEIJING

Take a morning tour to Tiananmen Square and the Forbidden City. Then, approach to the largest imperial garden in the world, the elegant Summer Palace. After that, visit the Panda House in Beijing Zoo. (B,L,D)

Day 4 Mon. BEIJING  

Whitehorse

In the morning, approach to the exterior of Bird Nest & Water Cube for photography. Then, continue to the Great Wall at Badaling. After that, tour the Ming Dynasty’s Imperial Tombs & the Sacred Way. If time permits, visit a Jade Carving Factory. Enjoy a Cultural Show tonight. (B,L,D)

Day 5 Tue. BEIJING

This morning we’ll visit another renowned imperial site - the Temple of Heaven. Then, visit Beijing Planning Exhibition Hall. In the afternoon, take the old–fashioned Pedi cab to the historical Hutong Area. We’ll visit Pearl Workshop if time permits. Tonight, enjoy Peking Duck Dinner. (B,L,SD)

Day 6 Wed. BEIJING - XI’AN

Take a morning flight to Xi’an, the great 7th century capital of the glorious Tang Dynasty. On arrival, meet local guide and transfer to your hotel. Afternoon city tour includes Big Wild Goose Pagoda and Provincial Museum. (B,L,D)

Day 7 Thu. XI’AN

Today, we’ll view the astonishing army of life-sized terracotta warriors that has been standing guard by the tomb of the Emperor Qin Shi Huang for over 2,000 years. On the way back to the city, we’ll visit the Ceramics & Pottery Center. Tonight, taste Dumpling Dinner and enjoy Tang Dynasty Performance. (B,L,SD)

Day 8 Fri. XI’AN - SHANGHAI  

Fairbanks

Fly to Shanghai. Afternoon tour includes the Bund and modern changes, Xintiandi. (B,L)

Hotel: Galaxy Hotel or (Superior 1st class)

Day 9 Sat. SHANGHAI

In the morning, tour the Old Downtown and classical Yu Garden. In the afternoon, we’ll visit Shanghai Museum. If time permits, we’ll visit a Carpet Factory. Tonight, enjoy the famous Shanghai Acrobatic Show - an unforgettable experience. (B,L,D)

Day 10 Sun. SHANGHAI

Today’s highlight is the Shanghai World Exhibition. It covers an area of over 5.6 Square KM with 27 master halls. (Shanghai EXPO period is for May 01 - Oct.31, but for Feb.01-Apr.29, Nov.01-Dec31 pre & post exhibitions might also be available) If Shanghai EXPO is not available on the date, we’ll make an excursion to the ancient water-town of Zhujiajiao & Jade Buddha Temple. (B,L)

Day 11 Mon. SHANGHAI–HOMETOWN  

Fairbanks

Bid China Farewell and transfer to airport for your flight back home. (B)
