The beginning of the Angkor civilization takes place during the period from 802 to 1431 A.D. the name Angkor Wat means “City of Temple" and Angkor Thom means "The Magnificent City ". The ancient Khmers were great masters of stone carving and the evidences were shown in various Angkor temples that extended on the large plain of Siem Reap and up to Laos. There are four temples: Bayon, Ta Prohm, Angkor Wat, and Banteay Srei that are not to be missed around the Angkor complex.

Itinerary

Day 1 SAN FRANCISCO/LOS ANGELES – HONGKONG– BANGKOK

Take an international Cathay Pacific flight departing from San Francisco or Los Angeles to Bangkok with a transfer in HongKong.

Day 2 BANGKOK – SIEM REAP

Whitehorse

Arrive in Siem Reap. Your tour guide will meet you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel upon arrival.

Hotel: 5* Angkor Century Hotel& Royal Angkor Resort or similar

Day 3 ANGKOR THOM – BAYON – ANGKOR WAT – BAKHENG HILL

This morning, visit old Capital of the Cambodian Empire. With more than 600 Monuments, remains of Angkor, are scattered round in this enormous area. Visit Bayon temple, situated in the heart of the old town of Angkor Thom, at the end of 12th century. Then proceed to visit Angkor Wat. This temple was built in the 12th century, dedicated to Vishnu with the five peaks representing the sacred Mt. Meru. It is remarkable for its powerful architecture and for the richness of its sculptures. There are the beautiful Apsara who hold you under the spell of their charm and their serene smiles. Visit Phnom Bakheng hill in the afternoon to see the sunset view from Angkor. (B,L,D)

Day 4 BANTEAY SREI – TA PROHMWhitehorse

After breakfast, head to Banteay Srei. Today’s sightseeing includes arguably the most beautiful temple in Angkor. Built in Hindu architectural style in 967AD, Banteay Srei is built of red sandstone with fine and intricate carvings. Continue to visit Ta Prohm after lunch. This temple was built as a Buddhist temple during the 12th century. Its location was completely forgotten until French explorers set eyes on it over a century ago. Many similar temples did not survive the damage caused over time by the all-devouring jungle. People describe these ancient buildings as “hidden miracles buried in mud and covered by jungle”. Day 5 SIEM REAP - BANGKOK - HONGKONG – HOMETOWN

After breakfast, transfer to Airport, flight back to your sweet home. You can stop Hong Kong or China with additional fee. (B,L)
